It's 2050.
Revolutions in biotech have created GMO-pigs whose organs are perfectly compatible with humans, but their use is still heavily regulated in most of the world. The usual list of requirements is ridiculous: giving up smoking, drinking, and sugar? Might as well die!

Quick and crunchy at the same time!
Patients are drawn from a deck and organs are drawn from a bag. The supply and demand of organs rarely match which makes pricing so important! Players will buy and sell organs through sealed bidding on a dynamic market where no two games are the same. The player consistently setting the best prices wins.
The ruleset is modular: the base game is taught in minutes, but there is plenty of complexity to discover if you want to dive deeper!
*Prototype images shown below. Unlike the organs, final art will be of human origin.

About the Designer
I'm Egil, a nerdy doctor from Sweden. I've been working on Transplantica since 2024 when I decided to make an auction game about supply and demand. Somehow, I settled on a theme of transplantation, one of the most fascinating subjects in all of medicine. Ever since the first playtest, I knew this would become something special, and I'm so excited to finally take the leap into publishing. I hope you have as fun with the game as I still have every time I play!
To develop the theme has almost been as fun as the game itself. Xenotransplantation is a growing field of research, and there are several people living with pig organs at this very moment. I wanted to explore in a satirical way what might happen to society when this technology leaves the laboratory and becomes commonplace.
A shortage of donor organs means that transplantation is still a rare procedure - only a select few are eligible. Abundant xenotransplantation would change healthcare as we know it forever, for good and for worse.
